“I really enjoyed the hands on practical of the course. This has opened up a whole new work opportunity to me.”
This course provides the information and experience to prepare therapists to work safely and confidently with clients who have a history of cancer or who are currently in treatment for cancer. The focus will be on working with an open heart and developing the art of being present.
Comfort-orientated massage or touch can be offered to people with cancer, regardless of the stage of their condition. The aim is to introduce therapists to the basics of oncology massage and the experience gained from this course will create new found confidence in therapists wishing to, or already working in, this challenging, rewarding and very special work. This training is equally valid and will be equally beneficial whether you work from home or in a clinic, community or NHS setting.
'Massage for People Living with Cancer' is designed for accredited diploma level Massage graduates. Therapists from other bodywork modalities, nurses and other interested health professional are also invited to apply but may be required to complete an access module in massage therapy and/or anatomy & physiology (depending on their background) prior to starting the course.
