I have no experience with massage, can I still come and do one of your courses?
Our Diploma in Swedish Massage course is aimed at people who have very little knowledge of the human body and have never done any massage before. The Swedish Massage course is your starting point for training and a career in massage.
I have no biology knowledge. Will I be able to cope with learning anatomy and physiology?
We start slowly with the theory, using terminology you understand but also introduce the medical terms as well. By the end of the Swedish Massage course your will have a good understanding of the medical / anatomical jargon.
How many days does it take to do the course?
The Swedish Massage course is 8 weekends, one weekend per month for 8 months.
The Remedial & Sports Massage course - 8 weekends, Advanced Remedial Massage – 12 weekends, Reflexology - 6 weekends, Aromatherapy -7 weekends ...
How do you split the course days up?
We start at 8.30am and do theory / Anatomy & Physiology in the mornings and practical massage in the afternoons.
I can’t make all the weekends at my school. What options do I have?
We teach the same at each venue, the same handouts and the same powerpoints. So if you cannot make your weekend in your venue, find the corresponding weekend at another venue to attend. Please let the office or your course leader know what you intend to do.
What do I need to bring with me to the course?
We will give you a handout each weekend. So a pen and some spare paper would be useful to bring. Bring 2 pillows in pillow cases, a large bath sheet or bath towel and a small hand towel. If you have your own massage couch then please bring it, but we do have massage couches stored at each venue.
I want to do Sports Massage. Is this possible?
You can only do the Remedial & Sports Massage course if you have first qualified in Swedish Massage, ideally from Scottish Massage Schools.
